Pre-Match

Burscough collected their third away league win of the season thanks to a tremendous turnaround five minutes into added time, in the 94 th minute of the game Burscough goalkeeper Charlie Monks pulled off a magnificent save with the ball going into the top corner of his goal, then on the counterattack they scored the winner via Tom Lawless with his second goal of the game, all leaving the Linnets with twelve points from ten league games.

First Half

Initially Glossop took the game to Burscough but struggled to make clear cut chances, the nearest the hosts got was a deflection that was eventually cleared then a double from Harry Middlehurst, first blocking a shot then putting in a very timely tackle.

Burscough began to get more into the game and on twenty minutes Marcus Korneliussen had the first threatening attempt for them the ball going not far over the crossbar.

The Linnets took the lead on the half-hour mark; Will Riding did some great work to set up striker Tom Lawless who matched the build-up with an amazing finish to make it 1-0.

Glossop responded well and efforts from McDaniel Kyobe and Ryan Katumba went close.

However, five minutes before the interval Glossop equalised with what looked a rehearsed move, a corner finding Jacques Etia on the edge of the area who scored with a very good strike.

Second Half

Moments onto the second-half Burscough almost restored their lead, a lovely over the top pass by Charlie Ball put Lawless in on goal but home goalkeeper Louis Hood made a very decent stop.

After 63 minutes Burscough got on the offensive again and from a Riding free-kick Middlehurst volleyed just wide.

Glossop were still posing a serious threat and after 71 minutes the Linnets contingent held their breath as from a corner Etia headed wide.

Former Skem winger Beven Burey twice brought saves out of an impressive Monks as Glossop pushed harder looking for a late winner.

The game went onto added time, Monks tipped the ball for a corner from which Burscough with a classic breakaway grabbed all three points, sending Lawless home the hero and pocketing three points that was a victory for hard work and team spirit.
